Land corruption

Land corruption working group - Land Corruption Unpacked: What’s at Stake?

Land corruption threatens ecosystems, fuels deforestation, and displaces communities, making it a critical challenge for environmental integrity. This interactive session will set the big picture and kick off a year-long journey for the Land Corruption working group, exploring ways of building collective capability across the conservation and anti-corruption communities. Through live polling and interactive tools, we will gather insights on key areas of interest to shape upcoming sessions, laying the foundation for strengthening collective capability and driving meaningful impact.

This session will set the scene on a four part learning journey where we will delve into critical topics in this space.

The speakers from the panel are:

  • Elaine Geyer-Allély - Senior Director, Inclusive Conservation and Governance, WWF
  • Roberto Martínez B. Kukutschka - Research Expert, Transparency International
  • Jonathan Ochom - Land Governance Specialist, Transparency International

The meeting will be held in English on Zoom. It is open to current members of the Countering Environmental Corruption Practitioners Forum and its Land Corruption Working Group, as well as those potentially interested in joining.
