Minerals corruption

From Diagnosis to Action: Building Solutions Together

We are excited to announce the launch of the Minerals Corruption Working Group on 9th December at 09:00 EST / 15:00 CET as part of the Countering Environmental Corruption Practitioners Forum, now marking its third year.

The minerals sector is facing significant integrity challenges that require urgent action. On this important day, we will share experiences and challenges, develop solutions and strengthen our networks to break the cycle that undermines regulations, enables environmental destruction and diverts revenues away from national economies.

Panelists include:

  • Juhani Grossmann, Director, Green Corruption programme, Basel Institute on Governance
  • Gay Ordenes, Technical Director, Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI)
  • Susannah Fitzgerald, Governance Officer, Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI)
  • Luca Maiotti, Policy Analyst, Centre for Responsible Business Conduct, the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD)

In this first session, we’ll set the foundations for our collaboration, looking at:

📝 Which topics should we prioritise?

🤝 What experience do we bring from our roles?

🗯️ What issues are we facing that we could explore together?

The meeting will be held on Zoom with simultaneous interpretation in English, French and Spanish. It is open to current members of the Countering Environmental Corruption Practitioners Forum, as well as those potentially interested in joining.

Don't miss this opportunity to be part of a global effort to fight corruption in the minerals sector.
