Climate finance accountability in practice: Perspectives from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and project implementing institutions

Join us for an engaging webinar on climate finance accountability, featuring insights from the Green Climate Fund (GCF) and project implementing institutions. This session will explore how strong integrity functions are critical to ensuring that climate finance delivers real results in a safe, transparent, and equitable manner.

Climate finance is a powerful tool in the fight against climate change, but its impact depends on the strength of the systems that protect it. Project implementers play a central role in making sure that funds are used responsibly and reach the communities that need them most. This webinar will highlight how integrity safeguards such as measures to prevent procurement fraud, conflicts of interest, and mismanagement are not just compliance tools. They are essential drivers of trust, efficiency, and impact.

Through the practical experiences of the GCF and Direct Access Entities (DAEs), participants will learn how integrity functions are embedded into project implementation to support transparency, accountability, and long-term success. The session will also share lessons that can help other institutions strengthen their own systems for climate finance oversight.

The discussion will be moderated by Bayartsetseg Jigmiddash, Outreach and Engagement Manager at Independent Integrity Unit, Green Climate Fund.

The speakers from the panel are:

  • Milagros Moscoso, Head of Risk Management and Integrity, Peruvian Trust Fund for National Parks and Protected Areas (Profonanpe)
  • Mukti Chhetri, Project Development and Post Accreditation Support Consultant, Alternative Energy Promotion Centre (AEPC)
  • Kwame Amaning, Internal Audit Manager, Ecobank Ghana

The meeting will be held on Zoom. It is open to current members of the Countering Environmental Corruption Practitioners Forum and its Climate Finance Working Group, as well as those potentially interested in joining.
